Boy Band Boyfriend by Leigh Ban

Stars: ★★★★★

Dana and Gusun meet during summer classes in college. They start working together in a project and fall in love. Gusun, however, is a member of a famous k-pop band Undone and that causes some unexpected problems for their blooming love.

Things I liked

First off, I'm not familiar with K-pop or Korean culture so I can't really relate to that part of the book, but I'm a 90's kid so I grew up with the Backstreet boys so I guess in a way I can compare these together. In that sense this book is great. It gives Gusun, a k-pop star so much depth and it makes him feel like an ordinary human and I really like him. I love stories where a extraordinary guy falls in love with an ordinary girl. And this is exactly that.
The plot is great too. It doesn't move too quick or stay in place for too long. There's always such great things happening and I enjoyed reading this book throughout the book.
Additionally, the love story itself is beautiful and I really truly, loved it.

I have to say I cannot think of any things that I did not like in this book.

Conclusion

All in all, this book was a great, quick read. It was a ordinary love story with a extraordinary twists. And a boyband hottie. I really enjoyed the book and I would not mind reading other books in the series

Long Live Dead Reckless by Safari Spell

Stars: ★★★★★

General info

Talor is an ordinary girl with a job, sick father and a dead mother. Until Sage turns up. After that unexplainable things start to happen. It’s a love story with a lot of twists and turns and a lot of danger.

Things I liked

I have to say I loved everything. The story is beautiful and it has so much happening in it, it never gets boring. There is drama, love and friendship. There is fallen angels and supernatural beings.
I really love the characters and how strong they are. This story isn’t a typical romance either and although it is sad, it’s still refreshing.
I also like the way vampires are presented in this book. Vampires are the children of the fallen angels and that to me is a brilliant perspective.

I don’t really think there is anything I did not like. Spencer’s fate is something I hate and something I’m still confused about, but other than that, this story is perfect to me.

Conclusion

Long live dead reckless is a beautiful love story with a supernatural twist. Interesting and refreshing. I just love, love, love it!

Taken by A.L. Long

Stars: ★★★★

General info

The third instalment in the Last Chance series. Lanie and Roman are finally back together, but a sadistic man is after Lanie and wants revenge on Roman. They manage to somehow stay together, but nothing is as good as it seems.

Things I liked

This is the best book in the series so far. I enjoyed it and it is easy to follow and it keeps you hooked until the end. The characters are interesting and I feel they have evolved a lot from the beginning of the series. I think there is a good amount of suspense and romance in this book, and somehow it flows better than the first two books.

Things I did not like

The ending for sure. Once again, a book in the series ends in a serious cliffhanger and this totally leaves the reader horrified. Other than that, I feel that this book has a lot more positive sides than the two books before it.

Conclusion

All in all, this is a good and interesting book. It's really quick to read and the suspense and romance are in balance. There's no chance to feel bored when reading this book. So far, this is the best book in the series hands down.

Slaved by A.L. Long

Stars: ★★★

General info

This continues from where the first book, Bought, ended. Lanie gets taken back by her previous master and sold to another in a matter of hours. Roman searches for her and makes a deal with her other master to train her together.

Things I liked

Well, it continues the story of Bought so it was nice to be able to get some closure. It’s an interesting story even if moves on really fast all the time.

Things I did not like

Once again this has great potential but it doesn’t follow through. I like the story but it’s too fast temped and a lot happens in short time. In a way, I like this better than I liked the first book but once again it ends in a cliffhanger and I have to read the next book in the series to really find out how the story ends.

Conclusion

A good but with great potential but it doesn’t completely follow through. Interesting story line, good characters and a cliffhanger ending.

How to Seduce a Billionaire by Portia Da Costa

Stars: ★★★★★
Buy from Amazon

General info

Jess and Ellis meet accidentally in the pouring rain. This starts a fling they both think will only last a few moments. They face their ups and downs whilst also trying to fight falling in love.

Things I liked

I absolutely love the idea of the story. I just wish my Dream Lover would show up and whisk me away. The story never gets boring and I was hooked until the end. I certainly hoped that Jess and Ellis would get their happy ending. They really deserve it.
I also love the characters. Jess is a 29-year old virgin, which on its own is unusual. She is a woman who has put everything on hold to take care of her nan and now that she is gone, is still trying to find her way back to her life.
Ellis has lost everything important to him. He’s a kind man, he’s not too domineering or forceful. He’s a lovely man altogether but he cannot get over his dead family. Let’s just say he is very different from the typical billionaire characters and I really liked that.

Conclusion

As a whole, I really truly love this book. It is a beautiful story with a happy ending and I’m so happy that I found this book and got to enjoy it. The story is beautiful and I recommend it from the bottom of my heart.

A girl has been held captive and a sex slave for 15 years. Then a buyer comes in and her live turns for the better.

Things I liked

The book is quite good, it is an interesting story. As a novella it’s extremely quick to read

Things I did not like

Even though the book and story are interesting, it somehow feels a bit unpolished. In a way it feels like it is a first draft and I would have liked it to have something more. Also, I’m not a big fan on cliffhanger books and this is exactly it.

Conclusion

All in all, this is an okay book. I like the story, but it is very simple and I would have like some more depth in the characters and the plot too.

Teaching His Ward by Noël Cades

General info

This is a bit of a cliche regency romance novel. Jemima is a 17-year old orphan girl whose guardian is the Earl of Southwell, a man who she has never met but who is extremely strict. When he forbids Jemima from going to London to begin her introduction to society, the adventure starts.

Things I liked

I generally like these kind of historical novels because they are easy to read and the language isn't too heavy. The story was good, even if it is a bit cliche. It was still great to follow and to experience Jemima and Marcus' love story. I wish finding a longtime partner would be this easy nowadays as it seem to have been in the good-old-days.

Things I didn't like

Well, I think there's nothing that I didn't like. I don't mind the cliche or anything. It moved a little fast since the Lord of Southwell travels so much so some months are skipped in the book but I don't mind that either. The ending could have been a bit longer but I still like it a lot.

Conclusion

All in all, this is a very enjoyable book that brightens up your day. I personally could not stop reading this book and when I wasn't reading the book, I was thinking about it so I guess I was totally hooked until the very end.
